These controllers for laser diodes offer a current supply with a built-in digital temperature controller using the PID algorithm. They offer the user a small footprint size which allows the controller to mount into small devices or be connected to a power supply on an optical bench for R&D applications. An on-board radiator provides heat dissipation isolates the power transistors from the heat sink. These controllers are fully functioning components ready to be mounted into laser devices. They were intentionally designed to power the circuit by soldering the AC input wires to avoid the problems associated with oxidation of contacts and arcing, particularly when a current of 15 Amps is flowing through the wires. Despite it's small size, these controllers are also able to work with TEC's and control the temperature. The PWM controller uses a PID algorithm which learns the behavior of the system and reacts to changes in temperature to provides higher accuracy of stabilization. The driver easily handles all laser diodes of up to 5 Watts of power, and at the customer's request it is possible to customize the driver up to 10A version. Separate laser diode supply voltage input and TEC inputs enable the selection of different power supplies. Analog input allows the modulation of the current flowing through the diode up to 100 kHz. Two potentiometers are used to set the values of maximum diode current and bias current. The third potentiometer is responsible for setting the set point temperature in the range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.
